Dorothy entered the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital no doubt knowing she was in the final stages of her battle with colon cancer. The cancer eventually spread to her liver and on Monday April 8th around noon Dorothy passed away. A Requiem High Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Finbar Hall at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Playa del Rey. About 50 people attended Dorothy's funeral and both Eddie Mannix, MGM's vice president and Howard Strickling, MGM's Publicity Director were among the pallbearers. Dorothy's final resting place was a simple grave at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. |
